The End Is Only A Day Away

Monday. Only one day separates us from what Bernard Lewis, President Bush’s favorite Middle East historian, claims to be the end of the world… or at least beginning of the end. The news that found its way into most mainstream media is based on two coinciding events: anniversary of prophet Mohammed’s skywalking and an announcement of Iran’s president Ahmadi Nejad to give his final answer about his country’s further nuclear development on August 22nd. Even though reports like this one from Glenn Beck’s show might seem convincing in a way, I sincerely doubt that an apocalypse will unfold in the next 24 hours… but, all these paranoid people do make one good point: that a nuclear Iran would no doubt turn into an Armageddon for its regional neighbors, especially Israel.

Other than the mentioned apocalyptic thoughts, Monday was yet another ordinary warm, sunny day – I woke up at 8 AM after sleeping for exactly 9 hours, spent the day on the internet reading, watching and writing a bit, and concluded it with classic 5km run in the evening. How very interesting.
